On Tuesday night, just before 9:30 p.m., the Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, was notified of a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of US-127 (Hustonville Road) and West Shelby Street in Boyle County. According to the ongoing investigation, a deputy with the Boyle County Sheriff’s Office was operating a 2023 black Dodge Durango northbound on US-127 and attempting to make a left turn onto West Shelby Street. As the deputy proceeded through the intersection, a 2023 black Hyundai Elantra traveling southbound on US-127 collided with the vehicle.

That Hyundai Elantra was driven by Michael Mingey.

In the aftermath of the collision, Michael was rushed to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center, where medical staff worked diligently and tirelessly to save him. Despite their heroic efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. Eric Guerrant officially pronounced him deceased.
